However in Texas only, even if they win a judgment against you, there is absolutely nothing that can be done to you to collect, even if you had a job.

Citibank account-closers report entrapment leading to false arrest

The recent spat over the 24 Citibank customers who were arrested for attempting to close their accounts has made headlines all over the internet, spreading through word of mouth and disturbing video footage, and indicating a flagrant abuse of power that trampled on the civil rights of ordinary citizens.

The 24 individuals were Citibank customers, and walked into a Citibank branch, announcing their desire to close their accounts; after what bank officials described as disorderly conduct, the doors were closed, the individuals not allowed to leave, and arrested when police arrived. Citibank claims, at the behest of the customers, that they were causing trouble, shouting loudly, and asked to leave, with one customer having requested to close an account, and helped accordingly.

The story from the customers is radically different; one “customer,” who later turned out to be an undercover police officer, as evidenced by the video footage of him dragging a woman from the sidewalk back into the bank to be detained and arrested, as well as the testimony of the customers who claimed he was seen later in the police station laughing and joking with the other police officers, was apparently the loudest and most disruptive of all the “customers” in line.

The only way such an operation could have occurred is with insider information as to where those customers had intended to close their accounts, with immediate response. Someone was listening in, somewhere, and set up a plan for detaining the individuals and arresting them, for something as simple as attempting to leave the bank. What protesters have been claiming is a system of corporate control which keeps them from expressing their rights and keeps them from doing anything about it, this is extraordinarily incriminating evidence of a undreamt-of conspiracy.

This, sadly, is what the United States of America has been reduced to. A corporate-controlled political system that flaunts its authority to the point of arresting innocent civilians who engage in perfectly legal consumer activity, hatching a plan to detain and arrest them under false pretenses. If anyone ever believed we are a free country, that particular dream is dead.

What should happen immediately, if such action has not yet been taken, is that the customers arrested should, as is already evidenced by their unofficial testimony thus far, declare the undercover police officer (for whom there is video footage proving he was an officer) was the one causing the disorderly conduct (for which there is bank security camera footage), and the mass arrest was not only planned, but clearly went beyond arresting the individuals responsible, to arrest everyone in the group, regardless of guilt. Clearly there are many individuals here who were wrongly arrested, as they were committing no crime, nor disorderly conduct, and being in the presence of individuals conducting themselves in such a manner is no crime. This means the officers involved are potentially guilty of entrapment, kidnapping, false accusations of crimes, and wrongful arrest.

If there is any evidence whatsoever of collusion on the part of Citibank, there are some deep pockets to be sued. The 24 individuals arrested for clearly illegal reasons should pursue such a course of action immediately.
